Surely Me

By Dassi Herszberg

i stride the wind swept rainy shores

Through Gorgeous little glades of greens,
Within pockets of tea-trees.
Down the winding, sandy paths,
Between wizened mana trees,
To the roiling, stormy sea.

I stride the wind-swept, rainy shores
With a southerner propelling me northward,
And I move along much faster
Then my legs can take me forward.

I turn and face the gale,
With her winds a lashing sidewards,
And her sand and rain
A biting cheeks and lips,
I push into her, push forward.
And she momentarily yields to me,
And I stumble slightly onward,
so, she catches me with a gust of breath
To stop me falling forward.

She shines her heart through darkened clouds
And golds the western skies,
And in the east, she glorifies
The seas with rainbow stripes.

I lift my face to wonderment,
Of Sun the Rain, the Sea
And I feel myself returning,
Slowly, Slowly,
To that,
Who’s surely me.
I leave the wind-swept rainy shores
And the roiling stormy sea,
And make my way up the winding, sandy paths,
Between the wizened mana trees.
Through the gorgeous glades of greens,
Within pockets of tea-trees,
I see my little camp,
A warming fire and
Loved ones to greet me.

And I feel myself returning,
Slowly,
Slowly,
to that,
who's surely me.

A portrait photo of a beach. The upper third of the image is a cloudy, grey sky. Below the sky is the sea. The sea looks wavy, with mostly white crests seen. The left of the sea is a small section of dark rocks. The lower two-thirds of the image is sand. There are lots of footprints in the sand and the sand looks dark and damp.
